My PhD project focusses on cell-cell adhesions mediated by the E-cadherin protein. This is a mechanosensitive process, but comprehensive understanding of the impact of certain mechanical cues, like E-cadherin mobility, on downstream chemical cascades and adhesion dynamics remains elusive. We hope to investigate such questions in more detail.
